U16 Dowling 2007/08The U16 squad is almost complete with a final practice match against Outer East Eagles on Sunday 23rd at Melville Oval Hamilton commencing at 11am to determine the final 13. Please arrive by 10.30 and wear full whites and bring own lunch and drinks. For those players who have not made it through to this stage please be encouraged by your performance to get this far and for many another year at this age group remains. Testing: A couple of U16 records fell at the recent testing. Jackson Merrett scored an amazing 80 metre throw, Matt Gunther, Kerry Tabalton and Anthony Close each managed 35 minutes on the continuous hitting and Jackson also equalled his old bowling accuracy record of 35. Just to round off an excellent all round effort Jackson managed to score a new record of 68 metres in the long hit. Both days will conclude around 4pm. All players are to wear white cricket tops and shorts or track pants. Please also note that subsequent trials will take place on October 21 (Hamilton venue), November 4 (Hamilton venue) and November 25th (Hamilton venue). Cap presentation and final group practice will be on December 16th (Hamilton venue).
